FEED THE POWER

ELECTRICAL
IS THE SYSTEM.

Your amplifier can only make the power your charging system, batteries, cable and grounds can actually deliver. Keep voltage at the amplifier at 11.0V or higher under real load.

01

11.0V MINIMUM.

Verify voltage at the amplifier under real load — not only at idle with no music playing. If voltage drops below 11.0V during use, fix the electrical before continuing.

02

CORRECT CABLE.

Use the wire gauge called for by the product and the current demand of the build. Larger systems may need multiple runs.

03

SOLID GROUNDS.

Ground paths need to be short, secure and made to clean conductive metal with cable sized appropriately for the circuit.

04

FUSE IT RIGHT.

Protect power cable at the source and follow the amplifier's published fuse recommendation. Fusing protects the wire and the vehicle.

05

CHARGING TO MATCH.

The bigger the amplifier, the more the alternator and battery bank matter. There is no one-size-fits-all alternator number for every build.

06

BIG 3 WHEN NEEDED.

High-current systems benefit from upgraded charging and ground paths. Build the electrical around actual demand and intended use.

HIGH POWER RULE

DON'T TUNE AROUND
BAD ELECTRICAL.

If voltage is dropping below 11.0V at the amplifier under load, terminals are heating up, cable is undersized or grounds are questionable, fix that first. Chasing more gain into a weak electrical system increases stress without giving the amplifier what it needs.

BEFORE YOU TURN IT UP

CHECK THE BUILD.

✓ Correct final impedance for the amplifier✓ Proper power and ground cable size✓ Main power wire fused near the source✓ Battery/charging capacity appropriate for current demand✓ Clean, secure grounds and terminals✓ 11.0V minimum verified at the amplifier under load✓ Gain set from a clean source — not used as a volume knob✓ Ventilation and mounting appropriate for sustained output

NOT SURE WHAT YOUR BUILD NEEDS?

ASK BEFORE
YOU SEND IT.

Send Ruthless the amplifier model, final load, battery/alternator setup and planned power/ground cable. We can point you in the right direction without pretending every build needs the same recipe.
